Who I AM

My name is Brittany Byrnes, and I’m a strength and performance coach.

I’ve always been active - I played soccer all through my youth up to high school, and enjoyed it so much. That was my first experience with any type of weightlifting - even if we barely knew what we were doing.

After high school I joined the United States Marine Corps, where I started learning more about the gym so that I could excel in my fitness tests. Lifting made my confidence soar — even though I was extremely self conscious at first. I used to be insecure about how small I was, as it made using all the equipment and gear so much harder. I felt like being smaller was a disadvantage, but I learned I was just lacking some physical strength. Lifting made me feel like I could take up more space, and kept me capable of doing incredible things.

After the Marines, I earned my degree in Exercise Science and Minored in Physical Therapy. I had been through PT myself while I was active duty, and was fascinated and inspired by healing through movement and strength. I’m passionate about injury prevention and rehabilitation because of that experience.

Now, I am married in Texas with my husband, 2 dogs, cat, and I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as often as I can. I also own a Women’s Self Defense Company called The Medusa Project.

I’m passionate about strength, and all the forms it can come through; Mentally, physically, spiritually, even in community.

My mission is to help other women realize their strength, and stay life-long athletes through well-programmed training and injury prevention.

Thanks for being here!
